A Familiar Face, Back as Project Manager
Stacey Cooper, a.k.a the “original” Webspec project manager (literally, she was the first person to fill this role on our team), left the team in 2013 to move back to her home state of Wisconsin. This summer we were lucky enough to snatch her back and we couldn’t be happier to have her on the team again! We love her high standards when it comes to cheese curds and her intense organizational skills—and the fact that she brings us Wisconsin beers once in a while doesn’t hurt either.
Word around the office is there used to be a cardboard cutout of you. Tell me more about that.
That was the worst. It was for my going away party — Kara [A former Webspec graphic designer] took this horrendous photo of me and then made it a cutout. It hung around for way too long. I heard they used to leave it in Niren’s space so when he arrived in for work it startled him—that’s how crazy I looked.
What are you most looking forward to about working at Webspec again?
I loved working at Webspec and am happy to rejoin the team. I am really looking forward to the amazing team here and getting to work on some very tough projects. I also love that people bring the dogs to work and that we sometimes get paid in food (like a pallet of beef sticks and cake pops)
Where did you grow up? If it’s not Des Moines, how did you end up here?
I grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin but I attended Drake University.
What is the best Halloween costume you’ve ever had?
My mom is an excellent seamstress, so she would make us the best costumes. I have a twin sister, so when we were little she did some fun costumes. The best one was when she and my grandma made these bumble bee outfits. They had stingers on the butt and everything. My sister and I ran around shouting “buzz buzz!” and stinging people for days.
If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
I’d probably change it to Kristin (my identical twin sister’s name), just to mess with people.
What is one thing your parents tried to get you to eat as a kid that you just hated? Do you like it anymore now?
I am not a picky eater, so I don’t have a specific memory of a food we fought over. I really eat anything!
What fictional place do you wish you could visit?
Hogwarts, obviously.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given? Who gave it to you?
“Life is about choices, choose wisely.” – My older sister Stephanie
We’re happy she chose to come back to Webspec! Meet the rest of the team, both familiar and new faces, on our .
