Meet The Newest Addition to The Content Team
This past summer we welcomed Eliana Lowry to our content and digital marketing team. A Texas/Iowa hybrid, she brings a passion for visual media to the team to help clients with written content on their website as well as photos, videos, and more. Now that she’s settling into her new role and getting a handle on Webspec life, let’s get to know her a little more.
Where did you grow up? How did you end up in Texas? And how did you end up in Des Moines? What’s your favorite thing about Des Moines?
I grew up in Jewell, Iowa and my family moved to Texas three months after I graduated high school for my dad to start a new job. While big city life was a fun and different experience, Iowa has always been home for me and I missed it and all my friends and family who live here. My favorite thing about Des Moines is that it’s a big enough city to have things to do, but still has the small town Iowa charm where people are friendly and you feel safe.
If you knew then what you know now, what advice would you give your 8-year-old self?
Don’t compare your “Chapter 2” to their “Chapter 10.” People go at their own pace and just because they appear to be successful over there, does not make you any less successful right where you are.
What are you binge watching on netflix right now?
XOXO, Gossip Girl
The DM (digital marketing) team is very passionate about their burritos. So where do you stand: Are you a fan of Pancheros or Chipotle?
This is the easiest question I could ever answer. Pancheros HANDS DOWN. Better queso and ingredients, soft warm tortillas, they mix your ingredients at the end, you don’t get E. coli, the list goes on.
Everyone has a guilty pleasure song. What’s yours?
Everyone who knows me knows I really don’t like country music, but I’ll always jam to Cruise by Florida Georgia Line.
The best part of waking up is?
Shutting off my alarm and going back to sleep.
What do you love most about working at Webspec?
Consistently creating content that captivates crowds (end alliteration).
What are your thoughts on the Oxford comma?
I am pro comma, support the oxford in all circumstances, and challenge you to read this without pausing after the “and”. Be honest, it just sounds better this way.
If you had to choose, would you rather live without search engines or social media? Why?
Search engines > social media. I love the feeling of proving to someone that I am right by just being able to Google the answer and showing them the result. I can’t imagine how people would have gone about getting that satisfaction pre search engine era, books?
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you want to play you?
Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars. People tell me I look like her all the time.
